BULL POT

News of Survey
and further discoveries. We have finally completed the full survey and
providing we don’t make any more discoveries I will soon have the finished
plan and e1evation(6’x2’) coloured and framed for display at
the Farm. surveys at half size l”=40’ will eventually be
produced. Meanwhile we still continue to dig, prod and discover
the odd passage. We have been especially fortunate during the last
month in exploring a further extension off the Junction
Chambers. This was the result of a hazardous meddle with a block
fall. The passage entered is from 20' to 30’ in height and one
progress by mainly walking and a succession of climbs to its end. The
entire length runs parallel to the main sump passages and ends only 250' from Lancaster Hole.
Its close proximity however is misleading as the passages in question
are on different development. A previously known inlet off the ‘Dry
Route’ to the main sump has been forced to within a few feet of the
large shake hole below the limo kiln in the valley. Another encounter
with block falls has revealed an old calcited passage
heading west. A full report on this and the
former find will be
published in the next journal.
