An
Introduction to Caving
I recently organised a beginner
caving trip into County Pot for my brother and his wife, who has never been
caving before. This was during a period of wet weather and conditions above and
below ground were quite sporting.
Whilst
underground we met a group on their way out, who told us of challenging
conditions in Lower
Trident
Streamway. We altered our plans accordingly; we omitted the planned Trident
round trip and instead investigated Spout Hall and bypasses, and the Poetic
Justice area. We had a very satisfying few hours, emerging clean and energised!
Thanks to Al Cook for coming along and helping with rigging and belaying.
