BULL POT.
The first hole on the new year's meets
list was Bull Pot and was well attended by ten members. It had been raining all week and it was
still pouring down when we arrived in Kingsdale. On the Way to the hole we glanced in at Yordas where the water had filled the main chamber to
within three feet of the entrance roof.
On descending we met the water at the
second pitch, Bull Pot's first pitch
being its usual dry self, however by careful hanging of the ladder’s managed to avoid it
until the fourth pitch. Here he water was tremendous and unavoidable but once below the lip the water passed
over ones head until the bottom was reached where the full force was felt. A wet
and bedraggled party of four ,Ian, Bill, Jim and a friend of Rays who had come down for
laugh Ha. Ha.? and Jin Newton came to the last pitch, to find it half full of
water. By this time everyone was beginning
to led the cold and a rapid return was made, out to a still rainy day and the Marton Arms.
